      FMG Supported Web Browsers

      What web browsers are supported for use with FMG?

      At FMG, we support the latest version of all modern evergreen browsers. These are browsers like Chrome and Firefox that automatically and frequently update without user intervention.

      We support the latest versions of:

      • Chrome

      • Safari for Mac

      • Firefox

      • Microsoft Edge

      We do not support:

      • Internet Explorer 10

      • Internet Explorer 11

      • Developer or Beta versions of supported browsers

      Why only Modern Browsers?

      We’re committed to developing web applications that go beyond the limits of traditional software. The FMG platform is a modern web application that uses some of the newest capabilities of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Different browsers still interpret these in different ways. These differences could cause severe bugs, like data not saving or corrupted data. That’s why we decided to support only modern browsers, providing improved security and performance.

      Why don't we support Internet Explorer?

      Microsoft has deprecated Internet Explorer 11 and recommends that all users use Microsoft Edge for improved security and performance. You can read more about these policy changes in their Lifecycle FAQ document and Tech Community post.

      How we made our decision

      Before making this decision, we looked closely at how our customers were using our platform. We saw that:

      • Chrome was the most used browser, with 84.5% of all page views.

      • Edge was second, with about 7% of all page views within the admin.

      • We saw less than 3% of all traffic within the FMG admin from Internet Explorer and a steady decline over time.
