Why does my dashboard show unread messages that don't appear in the messages tab?

This usually happens because of orphan conversations showing up in your unread count. See What Are Orphan Conversations And How Can They Be Resolved? to resolve them directly.

How Do I Clear All Notifications?

1. Click Settings.
2. Under Profile, click App Options.
3. Click Clear All Notifications.
