What is Positive Consent?
Understand how consent-based texting works with your clients
Here is a quick video that explains positive consent:
How Does a Client Respond to a Consent Request?
- To accept: The client replies with the single word "Accept" (not case-sensitive). Once they do, you can begin texting.
- To opt out: The client replies with "Stop" (not case-sensitive). Once they do, you can no longer text them.
- To opt back in: If a client previously opted out and changes their mind, they can text "Start" to resume texting with you.
If you try to send a consent request and get an error, check your Dashboard's duplicate contacts indicator first — this is the most common cause, since a contact saved twice in MyRepChat can trigger this issue.
If a client has already consented but MyRepChat keeps prompting you to resend the consent request, contact our Client Experience Team at support@myrepchat.com or 844-402-2428. We can manually enter their number as consented so you can start texting.
