Troubleshooting for Mobile App Users

Common fixes for MyRepChat mobile app issues

Cell phones can be finicky sometimes — if you're running into issues with MyRepChat on your mobile device, here are the most common fixes.

General Troubleshooting Steps

  • Update your operating system. If the app freezes or features stop working, make sure your phone's OS is up to date.
  • Use the latest version of the app. We release regular updates to fix issues and improve performance. Try deleting and reinstalling the app from the App Store or Google Play — your MyRepChat account information won't be lost.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app. This can help with login issues, or SSO/MFA not loading.
  • Restart your phone. Turn it completely off, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on — this resolves a surprising number of issues.
  • Check your phone's age. Older phones may not support the latest app or OS updates. If other apps are also crashing or you can't install recent updates, it may be time to upgrade your device.
  • Refresh the app. Close it completely and reopen it, or log out and back in.
  • Test using your own number. Message yourself in MyRepChat to confirm features work as expected — try sending yourself a message, scheduling one, or sending your vCard or media. This shows you exactly what your clients see, including send/receive timing.

Some foldable phones, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, may not offer an optimal experience with the MyRepChat mobile app. We recommend keeping these phones folded (rather than unfolded to the larger screen) for the best performance.

What Do I Do If I'm Not Receiving Notifications?

If you're not getting notifications for new messages or calls, try these steps:

  1. Make sure notifications are enabled for MyRepChat in your phone's settings. See How do I enable or change the notifications on my iOS device? or How do I enable notifications on my android? (Mobile).
  2. Check that your phone's OS is up to date.
  3. Restart your phone — turn it off for a few minutes, then back on.
  4. Delete the app and reinstall the latest version.
  5. Refresh the app by closing and reopening it, or logging out and back in.

The notification count may not update if messages or calls are accessed from a different account, or if a message is moved from read back to unread.
