Introducing MyRepChat to your clients
Best practices for rolling out texting to your client base
Here are some best practices and tips for introducing texting to your clients.
Step 1: Send Test Messages to Coworkers and Yourself
Before texting clients, try MyRepChat out first by sending messages to your own mobile phone or a colleague.
Step 2: Send an Explanatory Email
Let clients know about your new texting capability and what, if anything, they need to do.
-
Explain that you now have business texting capabilities, and share the phone number.
-
Let them know they'll receive a text from you soon.
-
If your broker-dealer requires positive consent, ask them to text your MyRepChat number the word "Accept."
-
Ask them to save your MyRepChat number as a separate contact, labeled as your "mobile number," for future texting.
Step 3: Add Your Clients as Contacts in MyRepChat
-
If you use a CRM: go to Contacts, click New Contact, then click Import from CRM. Search for each client and click their name to add them. See How Do I Import Contacts From My CRM?
-
If you don't use a CRM: create contacts manually, or upload them using a CSV file.
Once a contact is imported or created, it's saved to your MyRepChat account.
Step 4: Start Texting!
Choose a client and send them your first text from MyRepChat.
-
Go to Messages and click the blue new message button.
-
Choose Individual message.
-
In Name or phone number, search for the contact and select them.
-
Type your message and send it. That's all there is to it!
If the contact hasn't given consent yet, a yellow banner appears, and the consent request is filled in for you. Send the consent request before messaging the contact.
