How do I port my number for use on MyRepChat?
Transfer your existing number to MyRepChat's carrier.
Porting moves your entire number to MyRepChat's carrier, including both calls and text messages.
Is porting right for me?
-
Porting is usually best if you're a smaller RIA or sole proprietor who receives business calls directly, especially if you're often on the go. Your business calls can forward to your cell phone instead of an office line.
- Hosted SMS is usually better if your existing office or VoIP line is well known to clients and answered by office staff or assistants. Your calls stay exactly as they are, and you can text from that same number. See How do I text-enable my landline? (Hosted SMS).
How do I start a port request?
Gather the following information and send it to support@myrepchat.com:
- Number to port: (###) ###-####
- Account number with your current carrier
- PIN for that account
- Name on the account
- Address on the account
The name and address must match what's on record with your current carrier.
Required document: Complete and submit the Port Consent Letter of Authorization (LOA).
