Missing a Facebook Page in the Integration Workflow

If a Facebook Page you expect to see isn't showing up when you connect or reconnect Facebook in FMG, the fix is usually a quick permissions adjustment.

  1. Access Integration Workflow: After you click on Connect Facebook, on the very first screen of the integration workflow, instead of clicking “Reconnect,” click Edit previous settings.

  2. Choose your business permissions: You'll be asked which businesses FMG should have access to. Pick based on your situation:

    • Specific Businesses: If you manage other Facebook Pages that you don’t plan on ever connecting to FMG, select Opt in to current Businesses only. Then, you can choose the specific Businesses to which you want to grant FMG permissions.
    • Opt-in to All Businesses: If you manage multiple FMG accounts, selecting Opt in to all current and future Businesses will help ensure that you can integrate with Pages associated with other Business Portfolios on other FMG accounts.

Note: Ensure Appropriate Business Portfolio Selection: In this step, it’s crucial to select the appropriate Business Portfolio. For more details, refer to the section on Managing Facebook Pages through Business Portfolios.
  3. Check and Select Missing Pages: On the next screen, you'll see your Pages listed — the ones that were missing are likely unchecked. Check them, then click Continue.

  4. Finalize Integration: After selecting the missing Page(s) and clicking through the integration workflow, you should now see the expected Page(s) available to select. Click Add Profiles to complete the integration.

Managing Facebook Pages through Business Portfolios

Some Facebook Pages are associated with a Business Portfolio, and some aren't. This distinction matters when connecting Pages in FMG, because you'll need to select the right Business Portfolio during the integration workflow to access Pages that belong to one.

You can tell which type a Page is by looking at where it's listed:

  • Pages listed under a Business Portfolio heading (like "ABC Advisory" and "XYZ Advisory") are associated with a Business Portfolio
  • Pages listed under Your account are not associated with a Business Portfolio

In this example, you'll notice three Facebook Pages:

    • Jones Wealth Management is listed under the ABC Advisory Business Portfolio
    • Smith Wealth Management is listed under the XYZ Advisory Business Portfolio
    • Williams Wealth Management is listed under Your account — meaning it's not associated with a Business Portfolio
To connect Jones Wealth Management or Smith Wealth Management in FMG, you'd need to select their respective Business Portfolio (ABC Advisory or XYZ Advisory) during the integration workflow.

Post Failing with a "Network Error"

A "Network Error" when posting to Facebook through FMG means Facebook is blocking the post on their end — this is not an FMG issue, and your integration is still connected.

The most common cause is an identity verification requirement. Facebook periodically asks account holders to verify their identity, and posts from third-party platforms like FMG will fail until that's done.

Facebook does not always share exactly why an account has been flagged, but factors we have noticed that may increase the likelihood include: account inactivity followed by sudden posting activity, posting through third-party tools, use of business pages in certain content categories including content Meta's systems flag as related to social issues or politics, and name or profile inconsistencies across platforms.

For more information, refer to Facebook's help article: Why Facebook may ask you to upload an ID

The steps below walk you through how to complete identity verification in Facebook.

⚠️ The personal Facebook account that owns or manages the business Page must complete the verification — not the business Page itself.

Step 1: Look for a verification prompt

When you open the Facebook app and log in, Facebook should automatically prompt you to complete the verification steps.

On the Facebook mobile app (recommended)
      1. Open the Facebook app on your phone and log in to the personal account that manages your business Page.
      2. Follow any identity verification prompts that appear. *Note that you may be asked to upload a government-issued ID.

      On desktop
      1. Fully log out of facebook.com, then log back in.
      2. Follow any identity verification prompts that appear. *Note that you may be asked to upload a government-issued ID.

Step 2: No prompt? Trigger verification manually

Try these steps to manually start the identity verification process in Facebook:

      On the Facebook mobile app
      1. Open the Facebook app and tap your profile picture
      2. Tap the three-line menu (☰) in the top left of your profile page
      3. Tap Settings & Privacy, then Settings
      4. Then tap Accounts Center
      5. Tap Your Information and Permissions
      6. Tap Identity Confirmation at the bottom of the list
      7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete verification. *Note that you may be asked to upload a government-issued ID.

⚠️Note: Navigation steps may vary slightly depending on your device (iOS vs. Android) and app version.

      On desktop
      1. Log in to Facebook at facebook.com
      2. Click your profile picture in the top right corner
      3. Click Settings & Privacy, then Settings
      4. Click Accounts Center
      5. Click Your Information and Permissions
      6. Click Identity Confirmation
      7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete verification. *Note that you may be asked to upload a government-issued ID.

💡Note: You can also try visiting facebook.com/id/hub directly on your desktop.

*Note on ID upload: In some cases, Facebook may require you to upload a government-issued ID as part of the verification process. This is a Facebook requirement and is handled entirely on their platform. If you reach this step you will need to complete it directly with Facebook in order to resume posting.

      After Verification Is Complete

Once your identity has been confirmed in Facebook:

      • Return to FMG and retry your post
      • Your Facebook integration should continue working as expected
      • You do not need to reconnect your Facebook integration
      • Previously scheduled posts do not need to be rescheduled

⏰Allow time for verification to take effect. It may take up to 24-48 hours for Facebook's verification to fully propagate. If posts are still failing shortly after completing verification, wait a day or two before retrying.
