To Edit or Not to Edit, the Choice Is Yours
To make this Reel uniquely yours, create a free Canva account here and read on.
How to Edit Your Reel
- Double-click the open-in-canva.html file from your downloadable folder to open the Instagram carousel template in Canva.
- Next, navigate to the side panel and click Uploads, then click Record yourself.
- Select your preferred camera and microphone.
- The script is displayed on your left in the Notes panel for your convenience.
- Hit that record button and read aloud through the script. Feel free to add your own flair however you choose. The first couple of takes might feel a little awkward, and that’s okay! Delete the recording if you need to start over or use the spacebar to pause. Once it feels right, move on to the next pages and repeat.
- Once all pages have been recorded, click Save and exit in the top right navigation bar.
- You’ll then see thumbnail versions of your recordings directly on the pages, which you can delete.
- Drag and drop your recordings from the Videos tab into the placeholder frame on each page. Double-click your recording to adjust the cropping as needed.
- You can view and edit the length of each page by clicking your recording and navigating to the scissor icon in the toolbar above.
- The copy, design elements, and charts are currently locked. Should you wish to edit any of these elements, you can do so by clicking them and then clicking the lock icon in the toolbar.
- To preview your Reel, click the play button in the top navigation bar.
How to Share Your Reel
- Looking good! Once your design is ready, you can post to Instagram (or the social media channel of your choice).
- In Canva, on the top corner above the editor, click Share.
- Click the Instagram icon.
- Select Publish your post. Scanning the QR code will direct you to the Canva app on your phone where you can upload to Instagram.
- (Optional) Try publicizing your post through your other social media channels to drive cross-channel traffic
