How to Delete Scheduled Content

Deleting scheduled emails or social media posts

In FMG, you can easily delete your scheduled emails and social media posts, keeping your communication strategy agile. Whether it's a last-minute change or a strategic decision, FMG's intuitive dashboard enables easy management of your scheduled communications. Follow this article to learn how to delete scheduled content!

⚠️ This article discusses how to delete or cancel content that has been either custom-created or manually utilized from the Content Library. To cancel Automated Marketing content, it must first be toggled off. 

Deleting a Scheduled Email

  1. In your FMG dashboard, go to the "Email" tab, then click on "Sent & Scheduled" to view a list of your scheduled emails.

  2. Click on the subject line of the scheduled email you wish to delete.

  3. On the next page, you'll see a list of contacts the email was scheduled for, along with several button options at the top:

    • Download CSV: Download a CSV file of the contacts set to receive the email.
      View: Preview the email.
    • Edit: Make changes to the email content or scheduled send date.
    • Delete without Sending: Click this red button to delete the email permanently
  4. Click "Delete without Sending" to delete the email. This will remove it from your list of scheduled emails.

Save as Draft (Optional):

  • If you prefer to save the email as a draft instead of deleting it, click "Edit" next to the scheduled email.
  • Next, make an edit to the email content, even a minor edit is okay.
  • Click "Save Draft."
    • 💡The option to save as a draft will only become available after an edit is made.
  • The email can then be found in your drafts folder.

Deleting a Scheduled Social Post

  1. Navigate to the "Social" tab in your FMG dashboard and click "Shared & Scheduled."

  2. From here, you can delete a scheduled social post in two ways:
    1. Click the "Cancel" button in the Actions column next to the scheduled social posts:

    2. Click on the title of the scheduled social post you want to delete.
      • A social post preview popup will appear, showing a preview of the post. At the bottom of the popup, you'll find several options:
        • Close: Exit the popup.
        • Cancel Send: Permanently cancel (delete) the social post from being sent.
        • Edit: You can make changes to the social post content, scheduled send date, or social media networks to which the content is scheduled to be shared.
      • Click "Cancel Send" to delete the scheduled social post:

Additional Information 🤔

  • Social media content cannot currently be saved as a draft in FMG.
  • Scheduled content can be deleted even if it has already been approved by compliance.
  • You can delete scheduled content even if it has not yet been reviewed or approved by compliance.
  • Self-managed compliance users can also delete scheduled emails through their compliance folder.
  • To "cancel" an Automated Marketing email or social media post, you must toggle that Automated Marketing campaign off before the content is sent.
